Welcome back to our In Person College Fair!
Hosted by Louisville’s Youth Performing Arts School, The Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts (GSA), and duPont Manual High School’s Visual Arts Magnet.
On Career Day many of the most artistic and talented high school juniors and seniors, from both Jefferson County and across the state of Kentucky, have an opportunity to interact with many Colleges and Universities. These students have received advanced and specialized training in one or more of the following areas: Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art, Architecture, Vocal Music, and Technical Theater. The day’s activities will include a College Fair in addition to auditions in the performing arts, portfolio reviews, and interviews in all other areas.

Youth Performing Arts School
As the most comprehensive performing arts high school in Kentucky, the faculty, staff, and administration of the Youth Performing Arts School have the distinct opportunity to train, educate, and nurture today’s young talent to become tomorrow’s artists. The school has an environment where creativity and imagination are evidenced daily in the classroom, rehearsals, and performances. Students team with faculty, parents, professional artists, and community members to develop, perfect, and practice their craft in artistic experiences, uncommon to any regular program school setting. Students’ success is founded on commitment and discipline applied to the artistic program, and success is enhanced by the school’s rich diversity and understanding of the creative spirit.
The Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts
The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) is best known for its intensive residential program targeted to the needs of talented, high school-aged students. Each year, over 200 students are selected from over 1,700 applicants to participate in GSA’s rigorous summer program, which brings together a community of professional artists and young artists from across the state to a university campus for three weeks of intensive college-level training in the arts. GSA auditions the Commonwealth’s most promising high school sophomores and juniors in nine different art forms: Architecture, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, New Media, Visual Art and Vocal Music. GSA is free to all students selected for the program. GSA also sponsors a series of free regional workshops designed to demystify the audition process and provide master classes in a variety of disciplines. Additionally, GSA alumni uphold a legacy of high academic achievement, earning an average cumulative GPA of 3.7, and scoring an average ACT score six points above the national average.
duPont Manual High School
duPont Manual is a magnet high school with an optional, comprehensive high school offering unique academic programs for qualified students with special interests, talents, and ambitions. The magnet high school offers motivated students the opportunity to combine strong academics with specialized instruction in one of five component areas: University Academic Center; Visual Arts; Communications Media Arts; Youth Performing Arts School; and Mathematics, Science, and Technology. The Advance Program is also available for eligible students. Through a working relationship with the University of Louisville, qualified students in all programs may take college courses for credit while attending duPont Manual. Students have access to more College Board Advanced Placement courses at Manual than at any school in Kentucky.
The Producers
The Producers is the parent organization for the Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS). Meetings are held monthly to organize activities to enhance student success at YPAS. The Producers raises funds to provide scholarships to YPAS seniors whose parents or guardians have been members of the Producers. Substantial programmatic and material support for classroom learning and productions is also provided by The Producers.
